Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Use Volume Keys to Take Picture in the Camera App in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

Aside from giving you some features to let you quickly access the Camera app, your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge also gives you some features that you can use to help you easily take a picture in any condition, one of which is by assigning the Volume key as the camera key so you can take a picture by pressing the Volume up key or the Volume down key. You can use this feature as an alternative way if you don't like or have difficulty to use other ways to take a picture.


How to assign the Volume keys as the camera key in the Camera app?
You can do so by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Camera app.
  2. Tap at the top left corner of the screen to see more detailed settings.
  3. Scroll down the screen, tap Volume keys function and then select Take pictures.
  4. The Volume keys have been set as the camera key.


How to take a picture using the Volume keys?
Use the following steps as the example of using the Volume keys to take a picture:
  1. Open the Camera app.
  2. Point the camera to the object.
  3. If needed, you can manually change the focus by tapping anywhere on the screen where the camera should focus.
  4. Press the Volume up key or the Volume down key to take a picture.
