Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: How to Enable and Use Heart Rate Sensor Feature in Camera App in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

If you often use your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge to take selfies but have difficulty to use your hand to take the photo while holding the phone, you can use the heart rate sensor feature in the Camera app to have your phone automatically takes your photo by tapping the heart rate sensor after your face has been detected.


How to enable or disable the heart rate sensor feature in the Camera app?
You can turn on or off this feature by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Camera app. By default, it uses the rear camera.
  2. Tap to switch the camera from the rear to the front.
  3. Tap at the top left corner of the screen to view more detailed settings for the front camera.
  4. Tap Shooting methods(front).
  5. Tap the ON/OFF switch next to Use heart rate sensor to enable or disable this option. When the switch turns , means the heart rate sensor feature is enabled.


How to use the heart rate sensor feature when taking a self-portrait photo in the Camera app?
As the example, we'll use this feature to easily take a selfie by using the following steps:
  1. Open the Camera app. By default, it uses the rear camera.
  2. Tap to switch the camera from the rear to the front.
  3. Face the front camera lens. Make sure your face is not too close with the camera and gets enough lighting so that it can easily be detected.
  4. When your phone detects your face, tap the heart rate sensor on the back of your phone to have your phone automatically takes your self-portrait photo.
