Samsung Galaxy S5: How to Add or Remove Apps in Emergency Mode in Android 5.0.1 Lollipop

Emergency mode extends your phone's standby time by taking some actions, one of which is by limiting the number of usable apps. In this mode, you're only allowed to use some provided essential apps and two apps that you have specifically chosen.


How to add apps to the emergency mode home screen?
You can add an app to the emergency mode home screen by using the following steps:
  1. While you're in the emergency mode home screen, tap .
  2. Here, you'll be provided with the list of apps that can be used in this mode.
  3. Select the required app you want to add to.
  4. The selected app has been added to the emergency mode home screen. As a note, you're allowed to add two apps to the emergency mode home screen.

How to remove apps from emergency mode home screen?
If needed, you can remove apps that you have added previously from the emergency mode home screen by using the following steps:
  1. While you're in the emergency mode home screen, tap at the top right or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Remove.
  2. Tap at the required apps you want to remove.
  3. Tap OK button at the bottom of the screen to save the changes.
  4. The selected apps have been removed from the emergency mode home screen.
